Specialized Kinesiology
The ICAK-USA International College for Applied Kinesiology has reserved the term ‘Applied Kinesiologist’ for health care professionals licensed to diagnose.
‘Specialized Kinesiologist’ or ‘Energy Kinesiologist’ are the preferred titles for those falling outside of this category. Specialized Kinesiology is a system that evaluates structural, chemical, and mental aspects of health. By combining western techniques with traditional Chinese medicine concepts, specific reflexes can be stimulated to achieve a balanced state.
Manual muscle testing (MMR) is both an art and science. The muscle’s response is the science, and the nuances and intuition of muscle testing is the art. Some refer to it as a form of biofeedback. MMR testing, like any other skill, is refined with time, patience, and practice.
MMR testing has been rapidly growing in popularity. Since the 1960’s, millions of individuals around the world have experienced the healing benefits of kinesiology.
You may have experienced kinesiology through your chiropractor, naturopathic doctor, herbalist, acupuncturist, nutritionist, athletic trainer, nurse, massage therapist, or even your mother. Anyone who has an interest in helping people feel better appreciates the benefits of kinesiology.

What is Muscle Testing?
All organs have corresponding muscles that respond to specific stimuli. An energetic imbalance is characterized by muscles that do not give a strong signal and cannot hold strong when MRT tested. With correct muscle monitoring, we can get some ideas of what’s going on in a person’s energy system. This can give us clues about which foods are raising or lowering our energy. We can also see how physical and emotional stress may be contributing factors leading to muscle pain, tension, headaches, digestive disturbances, physical restriction, etc.
