My Story

Welcome!  I’m Terri Kaus,

INSTRUCTOR, SPEAKER, AUTHOR, AND PRACTITIONER

Early in life I realized how powerful nurturing touch was. My future would involve being a healer.  Being a cheerleader at heart, I love inspiring and motivating others. I’m grateful for the opportunity to share my knowledge teaching Specialized Kinesiology to practitioners around the world.

I believe learning kinesiology is an adventure and should be fun!

“Laughter is good medicine.” Proverbs 17:22

For me, learning has always been the most effective when I could relax and not feel pressure to get it perfect. I enjoy interacting and sharing stories, songs, and analogies that make learning memorable.

I get excited about teaching my students methods to work smarter instead of harder, yielding deeper, long-lasting results with less effort.

“This workshop was really fun. I love Terri’s humor and creative analogies!”
– K. Driscoll, Bodyworker

Discovering nine food sensitivities through kinesiology was life changing!

In 1989, my husband and I were at our wits end. Our darling two-year-old was acting like a perfect monster! He cried and screamed uncontrollably, didn’t listen, barely slept, was irritable, had stomachaches, headaches, multipul ear infections, hyper-active and was just plain defiant. This was not just the terrible twos! At a loss, we cried and prayed for answers.

I believe by divine intervention, we met a Touch for Health kinesiologist who through muscle testing, discovered nine different food sensitivities in our son. Her findings were confirmed through a blood test. Simply eliminating these foods from his diet was absolutely life changing for all of us. Within a week, we began seeing significant changes in our son. The journey out of misery and defiance to happy and healthy began. This was nothing short of a miracle!

Needless to say, I was sold on muscle testing and began taking every kinesiology class I found. I was dedicated to finding natural ways to help my family, friends, and clients!

Discovering 9 food sensitivities through kinesiology was life changing!

In 1989, my husband and I were at our wit’s end. Our darling two-year-old son was not a happy camper! He cried uncontrollably, didn’t listen, barely slept, had stomach aches, headaches, multiple ear infections, was hyperactive, and very miserable. This was way beyond the “terrible twos.” Exhausted and defeated, we cried and prayed for answers.

I believe by divine intervention, we met a Touch for Health kinesiologist who, through muscle response testing, discovered 9 different food sensitivities. She told us our son’s condition was very serious and that if we didn’t change his diet immediately, his chances for a bright future were very bleak. We had our family doctor follow up with a blood test. Much to our surprise, all of her findings were confirmed!

Eliminating these foods from his diet was life changing for all of us. Within one week, we began seeing significant changes in our son’s health and behavior. We began our journey out of misery and defiance to happy and healthy. This was nothing short of a miracle. My passion to learn kinesiology and finding natural ways to help my family, friends, and clients was ignited!

So, I began teaching others.

After 30 years of successfully integrating kinesiology into my personal life and practice as a massage therapist, I decided it was time to begin sharing my knowledge with others. In 2013, I was certified through the International Kinesiology College to teach Touch for Health. Founding Northeast Healing Arts in 2014 was the beginning of one of my greatest adventures. I started traveling across the US teaching seminars and having the time of my life hanging out with amazing healers.

I love the look of wonder on students’ faces when they experience the magic of muscle testing for the first time. Muscle testing is both an art and a science.  It’s an effective assessment tool for gathering a plethora of information about issues below the waterline, in the body’s energy system. I believe its a practical and invaluable lifelong skill that everyone should learn.

Empathy fuels my passion for healing others.

I enjoyed working in a nursing home as a nursing assistant during my high school years. After graduation, I moved to Dallas, Texas where I earned an Associates Degree in Theology. Since I was interested in foreign missions, I signed up for a summer term overseas. Toward the end of the summer, I suffered a terrible accident and was thrown off a horse. With a fractured spine, I was airlifted back to the US where I spent the next year wearing a body cast and brace and being on bed rest. Thankfully I experienced a full recovery!

I’m grateful that my experience with pain softened my heart and developed my empathy muscles for others.

I had started a nursing program the previous year and despite my physical set back, I had hopes to continue. Unfortunately, lifes challenges got the best of me and I failed the nursing program. Depressed and disillusioned, my dreams to be a missionary nurse to Africa were dashed.

Within a year things turned around: I had met my husband and was busy starting a family. I took massage therapy training two years into my marriage. I was pleasantly surprised at how fulfilled I was working as a massage therapist. As it all turned out, I found my niche as a healer after all. I was able to raise 4 beautiful children while working part-time doing a job I loved.

In 2013, with only one child left at home, I decided it was time to spread my wings by sharing the skills I had acquired over the last 30 years. I love teaching other healers effective techniques to help them to continue doing the work they love!
