The Power of Combining Affirmations + Holding Meridian Endpoints

This is a simple technique that can be an alternative to traditional Meridian Tracing.

Meridians, considered “energy pathways” facilitating the flow of vital energy known as Chi, are distributed throughout the body. The endpoints of these meridians are recognized for their heightened electrical charge compared to other locations. There are a total of 20 meridians according to TCM. In this technique, we will be working with 14.  Each meridian is associated with specific organs, systems, functions, emotions, and more.

Similar to meridian tracing, holding meridian endpoints offers various advantages, including:

  • Energizing the body
  • Increasing circulation
  • Supporting the immune system
  • Enhancing sleep
  • Relieving pain
  • Calming emotions
  • Promoting relaxation

Traditional meridian tracing requires a fair amount of physical movement. Whereas the alternative technique of Holding Meridian Endpoints can be performed either lying down or in a comfortable seated position. This technique is accessible to most individuals and can be performed in a variety of settings.

How to Perform the Technique

Chinese 5 Element theory is made up of 5 elements, fire, earth, metal, water, and wood. Each of these elements houses 2 complimentary organs. One yin organ is paired with one yang, except for the fire element which has 4.

Follow these steps to perform the meridian endpoint technique:

  1. Hold two different meridian endpoints at the same time in each set.
  2. Read and ponder the affirmations associated with each set of points. 
  3. Taking some slow, deep breaths often enhances the effectiveness of the technique.
  4. You may experience a sigh or yawn after holding a set of points for a few moments. This is typically seen as a as a sign of release or completion.

This simple yet powerful technique encourages the regulation of energy flow through the meridians, promoting vitality and overall well-being. Regular practice is encouraged and may contribute to a relaxed and peaceful state of being.
